LIST FOR MAY 2, 2011:

Five Things I'm Excited About
  1. This week's NBC comedy block. Full disclosure, I'm always excited whenever there are a crop of new NBC comedies, but this week especially so because Community (favorite. show. ever) is having Part 1 of their epic two-part season finale, which is going to have paintball again and I hope it's not all shark-jumpy or just like last year's paintball episode (1x23, "Modern Warfare," best episode of anything ever, ever ever ever including Arrested Development ever ever ever). The Office . . . well, it'll be interesting, I guess, to see what post-Michael Dunder Mifflin is like, in the way that it'll probably be interesting to see NewsRadio's fifth season (won't say any more, though IT'S BEEN OVER TEN YEARS. Statute of limitations much?). The uber-essential Parks and Recreation will be having an episode called "Eagleton," which if you've seen the show YOU KNOW WILL BE AWESOME, and 30 Rock's season finale ("Respawn") is also on, so yeay. There's also an Office rerun at 7.30c, which I'm neutral towards, and a new Outsourced, about which I have to say . . . please let this be the season finale. #kthxbai
  2. Vanessa Carlton's new album, Rabbits on the Run (Razor and Tie). Vanessa Carlton is amazing. I shan't hear any disparaging remarks because of her hit single "A Thousand Miles," which is catchy and peppy and somewhat well-written but not really essential; however, it's the only song by her most people know, which is just . . . no. Anyways, the album drops June 21 and the first single from the album, "Carousel," IS BEING RELEASED DIGITALLY TOMORROW. #fuckyeah So I'm definitely waiting super-excitedly for that. Yeah, a live version is already on YouTube, but for me it's studio or nothing, bitches.
  3. The Last Little Blue Envelope by Maureen Johnson. Yes, I know this book (HarperTeen, $16.99, April 26) is already out, but I don't have it yet and OH MY GOD I WANT IT. Maureen Johnson is made of win and so was 13 Little Blue Envelopes and this book is supposedly really damn good. So as soon as I get money . . . yeah.
  4. FIELD TRIP Lest you think I'm a total studio/publisher/network plant or someone that gets off on one-sided cross-promotion or something, I'll include this only-affects-my-life one, because I really am excited about it. MAY 17 MAY 17 MAY 17.
  5. The end of the school year. God, I hate my school. So can't wait to get out. One more month one more month one more month . . .
